Differences Between Blowers and Centrifugal Fans

1. Working Pressure: Due to different working principles, blowers typically have higher output pressure compared to centrifugal fans, which generally have lower output pressure.  


2. Manufacturing Precision: Blowers require higher precision in manufacturing and strict assembly requirements, whereas centrifugal fans have more lenient precision and assembly standards.  


3. Airflow: Blowers are generally used in applications where high pressure is required but the airflow demand is not large. In contrast, centrifugal fans are used where low pressure is sufficient, but large airflow is needed.  


4. Working Principle: Centrifugal fans use curved blades and rely on centrifugal force to push air to the casing. Blowers use two figure-eight-shaped blades with minimal clearance, relying on the compression between the two blades to push air to the outlet.  


5. Constant Flow vs. Constant Pressure:  

  - Blowers are constant flow devices, meaning their primary working parameter is airflow. The output pressure varies with changes in the pipeline and load, while the airflow remains relatively constant. Blowers are volumetric machines, and the airflow delivered is proportional to the rotational speed. They are suitable for applications requiring constant flow.  

  - Centrifugal Fans are constant pressure devices, meaning their primary working parameter is air pressure. The output airflow varies with changes in the pipeline and load, while the air pressure remains relatively stable. They are suitable for applications requiring constant pressure.  


5.Noise and Efficiency: Blowers generally produce higher airflow and pressure, which also results in higher noise levels. If lower airflow and reduced noise are required, a rotary blower can be selected. Rotary blowers are also constant flow devices, characterized by low rotational speed, low noise, low vibration, high efficiency, and energy savings.
